Bacteriostatic Water
Bacteriostatic water is needed to reconstitute lyophilized peptides. It is sterile, distilled water containing a small amount of 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a preservative. Unlike standard sterile water, which is single-use, bacteriostatic water is designed for multiple uses from the same vial. The term “bacteriostatic” literally means “inhibiting the growth of bacteria.” The benzyl alcohol doesn’t necessarily kill all existing bacteria, but it prevents any bacteria that might be introduced through multiple uses from the same vial.
I used to buy bacteriostatic water online but I’m offering it because it seems to be disappearing from Amazon. Each of my past orders are now no longer available and you really have to search to find the few products still listed. What is available is very large—30 to 50mL. Once opened, these larger bottles would take too long for you to use up and bacteria could start to grow.
Reconstitution solution generally sells for $9 to $12 per bottle. I’m happy to offer it for the lowest per-bottle price you could find anywhere!
